Well I'm not brand new, but it's a been awhile. Got a Happy Birthday from Political Chat and thought I'd say thank-you -- since a been a couple years since I've been here.

That was a very nice touch. And --- I kinda miss y'all.. At least the ones who were here a couple years ago.

Seems like the general public discussion is pretty intense right now. Not looking for "headline" discussion. More of the "long view" of where the discussions will be when all the shouting is over..

It's just feature of the software, we all get 'em. ;)

The longview? It'll be President Clinton next January and Donito Trumpolini will still be sending angry tweets while ensconced in Trump Towers deciding on his next trophy wife.

You are sticking out your neck a bit here. Most folks think this is a 50/50 chance type of thing. I have no use for either re-tred power whore and will be spending the summer working to get folks from both disappointed parties to consider Gary Johnson.. Could be interesting !!!!

I'm open to advice on "working out".. Does having opinions, principles and years of message boarding hurt my chances of survival?

I haven't got one for years.

I'm good with almost anyone that isn't Trump, a teapublican,ok Jesus weasel, or a Libertarian.
Gary Johnson is a Libertarian, essentially water carriers for plutocrats.

A realistic appraisal...50/50.

I believe the Democrats made a big mistake in the early anointing of the money-grubbing Clinton, and the Republicans are pissed with their leaders.

It's an opportunity to perform for the Lib Party this year. To quit the ideology fights and focus on the reality of where we are as a nation. And it's like getting the ball on 40 yard line to have all those #nevertrump #neverhilliary folks out there.

In reality, (and Gary Johnson said this in the Lib debates) -- we support about 50% of what Bernie stands for.. We are Dems with fiscal sanity and Reps without all the moral judgments. Good place to be this year... We haven't changed -- the people have realized that the parties have become the tyrants that we were warned about..

A buddy calls this tyranny American Fascism. That descriptor works for me.

The parties work for the actual tyrants and the tyrants pay their politicians well.

Tyrants like Fred Koch, former Libertarian vice presidential candidate.

It's become abundantly clear that only 4 people actually RUN Congress. You cannot requisition a pencil or take a pee without those 4 party bosses. They control the dialogue, the legislation, the funding and and assignments. Cross them and you will be working out of a broom closet and facing a FUNDED competitor in your next re-election bid..

I believe the 2 parties are well capable of working for THEMSELVES. and they have a very low opinion of voters.

Well Kuddos to RT news for doing that. Not sure why only 3 MINOR candidates were chosen for that debate -- but it points out that we have a robust CHOICE of candidates (about 12 if I remember). .

If you actually sat thru 2 hours of MINOR candidates -- imagine how much better it would be if simply watched the 2 debates that Stossel hosted for the 3 FRONT-RUNNING Lib candidates. Nobody has the support that Gary Johnson has - and he will likely be our nominee again this year..

I did. Watched it live on its original air date. Three remarkably uninspiring choices. Johnson has been around long enough to be on the radar of anyone with sufficient interest and, again, through RT where they're frequent contributors, I've become familiar with McAfee and Petersen. Not impressed.

Macaffee is a certified head case. Never should be quarterbacking the nuclear football. Don't think he actually knows how he moved to Guatemala or whatever. Too much weed or some darn thing. The Peterson guy is too desperate. Too much ideology and not enough realism.

And Johnson is working on his lack of charisma. I hear Rue Paul is coaching him on having some "flair and fizz"

Hi Flac!

I'm hoping there is some freak accident that takes out both Hillary and the Spoiled Trust Fund Baby, leaving the presidency to Bernie.

That should be obvious to everyone by now. The fact that so many Clinton supporters are so dismissive of the objections and concerns of Bernie's supporters is clear evidence of their willful blindness..... at best.

That's a hopeful attitude. I think most of the party carnage is gonna be in Philly. More "voice votes" from the floor being ignored. Lots of platform construction accidents -- should be exciting.

I love me an honest So************************t.. Not 1/2 a party HIDING from that label..

Yup. We love Hillbilly Hollywood south of Nashville. We were desperate to get the funk out of Silicon Valley and picked this area from a lot of others. That and I traveled to most of the SEC away games when I was in Grad Sch at Florida. I remember loving the scenery and the housing around Knoxville and Nashville..
