If the anti-trust laws were actually enforced in the US any more, ebay's requirement that sellers use paypal could be considered a tying arrangement, which, as I recall from my 7:30 a.m. anti-trust class, is an improper use of monopoly power. I think the sheer size of ebay, and it's market share of on-line auction services should cause courts to look carefully at any anti-competitive practices in which it engages.

To put it another way, that's the kind of stuff that happens when a company gets too big for its britches.
