In this instance, it is completely legal to cross the border - even without documents.

Of course those of us in the US know that the world revolves around us.

However,

I don't see any rules requiring one member to validate the ideology of another, or concede any points of contention. There is no mandated adherence to "Political Correctness", be it the political correctness of the left-----or of the right.:p

Attempts to demand another member admit error will continue to fall flat.

There is no validation for much of the ideology on the right. Look at the gun problem and debt crisis they have caused alone.

Depends on what you consider as valid. The water is so dirty because of rhinos;who could define the conservative stance of today's Gop. It is valid to say we should stick to the principals that made this nation great. We have strayed from those principals on both sides of the isle.
We use to keep taxes down on business to provide a good climate for investment. People were working. Revenue increased inspite of lower taxes.
Now businesses go abroad because the investment climate is bad. Because of taxes and government meddling.
We use to have a moral compass after defeating Germany and liberating Europe. We were on the side of right and the world saw it. Now we make friends with thugs and the world sees that too.
We should all return to what is right and just. But people have strayed so far from those ideals that now many call good bad and bad good.
Even communism is taking hold in this nation. I can remember when that would not have been possible.

"Fair warning: The 100 percent tolerance is over. We will start with temporary suspensions and move from there. This will apply to future posts, and it will apply to inappropriate posts as well as those that are clear provocations of such posts.

We will also start enforcing the rule that is strictly enforced at AK: public discussions of moderation decisions are off limits. That means that if discipline is imposed, there will be no cartwheels of celebration or bitching about it being unfair. There are plenty of topics here for discussion. Moderation will not be one of them.

This has been a topic of serious discussion among the moderators and the management.

I am pondering a serious question in the moment.

How does Trotskeyism play out in electric bullhorn vs Ricola cough drop bullhorn space and the Sound of Music?

What sort of theater are we trying to maintain and walk about? Broadway? Library? Certainly not Times Square. The moment goes all wrong in that blinkenlicht.

Peace.

I have a question about that. I'm assuming this doesn't include photos that are shared via the picture link and insertion of a URL since I see no option to resize a photo. Or am I missing a feature of the software we use here?

You'll have to resize it yourself. I use Paint for instance or you can find a smaller version.

Bears repeating...once again. Some of you newcomers are unaware that we actually do have some rules here. Imagine that.

Yes, the joint runs with an eye towards the First Amendment. No, that doesn't mean this is Tombstone before the Earp brothers and Doc Holliday breezed into town.

Don't whine about how unfairly you've been treated by the mgmt./mods/rockers/admins. Chances are you pushed the envelope and got banned temporarily. Pushing that same envelope will get you a more permanent vacation.

Your rapier sharp wit may be the shizzle in whatever burg you hail from but don't get too bent if the membership isn't dazzled by your brilliance or baffled by your bullshit.

One other thing, your friendly neighborhood admin/mod/janitor is just another AKer in good standing who volunteered to help out. That doesn't mean I park my politics at the door or that I'm here to be your babysitter or nanny.

Thanks.

ps this isn't an invitation to run your pet peeve/burnt tailfeathers up the flagpole in the open forums. Take it to the private messaging system.

I know this should be in "current events" but it's here so I will respond here. Let me help. The question should not be what is a "wokester". The question should be, what is one who uses the term "wokester."

One who is pitching terms like "wokester" around is one of the racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic, jew-bashing bigot, "thoughts and prayers" gunner, alt-right mainstream American conservatives that we are stuck with in this country. One of the 46% of US voters who cast their precious ballot for the sociopathic grifter, sexual assault perpetrating pedophile twice for president, and who will vote for him again should he be the nominiee of the racist, sexist etc., etc., Republican party that we are stuck with in this country.
