How convenient that this is introduced when we have a prez that is enabling more welfare then ever before. Step one get people in need to suckle from the gov's tit. Step two remove term limits. Step three said people will forever vote for you who enabled dependency. F'in lovely !

This brought to you by the same clown who is even more socialistic then oblama..

and get this guys, I heard a news blurb on the way home tonight about Misouri's welfare offices getting in trouble for NOT getting voter registration cards from everyone who signs up for any type of welfare (not sure when this became law, but it is). I swear, it may be time to start thinking about growing a pair and getting ready for a tussle.:(

Seems like there was talk of this back when Regan was president, if my memory serves me correctly.

Amending the Constitution is pretty difficult to pull off.

Yeh, but putting a black dude (with his picture on the net wearing Muslim garb), in the whitehouse was no easy trick either. That's not to be a racists comment, but just the truth. I don't put anything past this guy. That's what's so scary.

I understand what you're saying, but I'm not too worried at the moment. 2008 was the Democrat's year, the stars were aligned, the moon was full, the fish were biting...this happens every so often. To both parties.

Besides, there's always some crazy bastard in either the House or Senate who comes up with some bill that ain't got a snowballs chance in Hell of ever making it to the floor.

Amending the Constitution is still a tough nut. That's why the pol's are always trying to sneak shit in as riders.

In a way, I admire anyone who wants to amend the Constitution, you can't just hide this from public view.

If'n y'all Damyankees don't want us no more, we'd be HAPPY to oblige......Who set up all the cockamamie bullchip social programs that haven't done a damn thing except waste gobs & gobs of money, & threaten to bankrupt the country now ? Wasn't us. We got 'em shoved down our throats by the mighty imperial federal government. And THAT'S what the War of Yankee Aggression was really about-the right of states to tell Uncle Sugar to go piss off if he tried something that a state or a region didn't like. We were RIGHT-Once Obi-wan-Yo-Mama's dubious "Cap'n Crunch " legislation goes thru, you'll have to get some needledix's OK from Washington to be able to sell yr house, lest it not be "Environmentally friendly"...

I agree. The funny thing is that it is unusual to read this stuff coming from the left. The left is generally the "tolerant" party.

Always thought the War of Northern Aggression was started over the North placing tariffs on exported cotton and imported trade goods from England. This gave the industries of the North an advantage at the expense of the South.

Funny how people get pissed off when you use the power of the government to steal from them.

Guess some things never change.

Well, the left likes to portray themselves as the tolerant party. And the intelligent party.

Shit, they even tried to pass off J. F. Kerry as an intellectual with a "chest full of metals".

I guess that in his favor, he did have more Purple Hearts than that stupid old has been, John McCain.

Do you feel Kerry is not an educated man?

Do you feel Kerry did not deserve a metal because he came home and made a stand to better his country?

Seems to me he did the most patriotic thing a man could do. He heroically served his country and came home to change what was wrong with it. How do you find fault?

If you chose not to vote for him based on his platform, fine.
If you chose not to vote for him based on him as a principled man I do not understand.

Well, he had a college degree, so I guess he was educated.

As far as three Purple Hearts without missing a day's work. Either he was one tough sonofabitch or he was gaming the system. It appears to me that he was gaming the system.

He did serve, and deserves the up most respect for that. And I'm talking about the military, not congress.

I did vote against him because of his platform. Perhaps he has principals, perhaps not. I WOULD NOT go as far as to call him a statesman.

Now to my gut feelings. He is a stuffed shirt who isn't even as intelligent as Shrub. A JFK wannabe. And watching him running around on the campaign trail in that fukkin yeller barn coat, asking the yokels, "Can I get me one of them huntin' licenses here?" was enough to make me vomit.

Of course, I can say the same thing about 99% of the politicians on the national stage.

But I did like his wife. I don't she drew a sober breath during the entire campaign. And if I were in her shoes, I wouldn't have either.

Now there is another Kerry out there, Bob Kerry. While I may not agree with him on everything, I have the up most respect for him, and I do believe that he is a statesman.

The man walks around with shrapnel in him. To say he was "gaming the system" seems inappropriate, at least to me.

I think this is it.
I have to wonder what this guys motivation is. Does he need it for his memoirs? his resume? His re-election?
I'm not too worried.

It is really funny to see that the same arguments regarding the term of office of the president are still floating about as were expressed during the debates over the Constitution. Plus que ca change, plus que ne change pas.
