I'm sure everyone has an opinion or guess on this. I think I'll ponder my response awhile after I see what you guys think. Thanks, Jay

My healthcare costs will continue to increase (beyond the cost of my housing), because of the fear injected into any discussion about healthcare/insurance reform. The insurance lobby is too embedded in K Street and they have too many Senators in their pockets.

I'll tell ya four years from now...provided I'm still around. Every time I gaze into my crystal ball, all I see is some fat, half bald guy.

I don't even want to think about the possibilities as it just doesn't look promising now.

I hear ya, but it's so hard to picture this country in real trouble. I just can't make myself see a soup line downtown (or worse). I just worry about this mountain of debt we've gotten ourselves in. What happens if we just flat can't pay up? China needs us to buy all their crap right, so they wouldn't do anything to screw that up.............would they? I've heard one theory that at this point, the guvment might be "planning" on hyper inflation so that when the dollar is worthless, they will then pay off the debt that is in dollars. Then we would start rebuilding the dollar, or change to something else. Hell, I don't know.:o

I hope that Jack Ass in North Korea doesn't do anything stupid in the next 4 years.

I have no idea whether I will have a job, I work in a company that thrives in offering commercial credit, and, well, they just aren't paying their bills like they used to, and that is freaking scary.

I hope we get the hell out of Iraq.

I hope the government doesn't have majority share in any more industries then they do today, but I am afraid they will.

And lastly, I hope I can still afford heath care, because my wife has Arthritis pretty bad, and it's getting more and more expensive for the medicine, and every year I have to pray that they will continue to pay for it.

Kim Yuck Foo oughta be given a little gentle reminder of whose cage he is rattling w/his Boy's 1st Rocket... As Clint might say, "A man's got to know his limitations..."

Hubby and I pray we live long enough to see this country return to be respected and have the government officials uphold the laws they have sworn to uphold...free of lies and corruption. Our children and grandchildrens future depends on it. This I need to see. Amen

Reminds me of a story from the '80s- Reagan, Gorbachev, & Mitterand get to have an audience w/God. Each gets to ask Him one question. Reagan gets up there & asks Him how long it will be B4 America's problems are solved. He says "10 years", & Reagan starts to cry-"I'm an old man, I'll never live to see this...Then Mitterand gets up & asks the same thing about France. God sez 20 years, & Mitterand starts to cry-"I'm an old man, too, I'll never live long enuff to see this come to pass..." Then Gorby gets up, asks the same question, & God starts to cry...I'm afraid what you want NONE of us'll live long enuff to see it come to pass...Gummint officials taking their responsibilities seriously, & doing what's RIGHT rather than lining their pockets ?!? Dream on.

Well, our fiat "Yankee Dollar" may no longer be backed by gold, but, for the time being, it IS backed by plutonium.

It stinks, but let's not be too quick to pull our drawers down. It's an ugly world out there.

Now come on, Sandy, the Gubbermitt boys can get religion once the handwritin's on the wall.

Even the Eyeties figgerd it out once. "El Duce" wound up hangin' from a lamp pole full of SMG projectiles.

This happens from time to time. Just as soon it didn't happen till I managed to suck up some of the "Socialists Security" I've been paying into. Hell, kick the can down the road, the "greatest generation" did us to us asshole "Boomers",what's the way you play the game. Get ready Generation "X", it's your turn now.

My wife and myself play the game, live beneath our means, try to save for retirement, but we are getting tired of having our pins kicked out from beneath us.

If you fuck with someone long enough, they're gonna pull iron. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to live through this. Wanted to die first.

Any thoughts,

Chas

I don't even want to think about it 'cause none of the possibilities looks very pleasant.

If I'm left with nothing but what I myself own outright, I'll be just fine with that. It ain't much, but if I have clothes, my van, my quad, and my guns, I'll have more than a lot of folk.

what will america look like in 4 years? my guess is justabout the same but ten years. west coast states leased to china under chinese administration (something like hong kong) there not going to hold our debt forever.im goddamn glad to have the rocky moutains between me and the west coast.i also belive that there will be a new constituional convention by then which will be the end of the bill of rights not to mention the 2nd amendment

if we dont do something soon all this and worse will come to pass americans are charged by the constitution and the declaration of independence the responsiblity and duty to change our government by any means necessary, when the government no longer serves at the will of the people.
This means having to give up a lot of creature comforts and that we shed our own blood on our own soil for the first time in 150 years.

Make no mistake about what i said earlier, the chinese are coming. Why in the f*** do you think our Military is scattered all over the planet instead of here at home providing a national defense? (which is their primary purpose under charter of the constitution.)

They will hold our debt as long as it makes sense to them, no longer, no shorter.

The Chinese keep sabre rattling about removing the dollar as the universal monetary unit but if they screw up the dollar who is the biggest loser? The Chinese, so I really doubt that they are about to shoot themselves in the foot.

Besides we don't need any help to screw about with the dollar, Wall Street and the investment bankers are doing just fine with no outside help.
