Assuming that those who would be members of a political chat forum, vote, and that unless you live in a large metro area and have no need for a vehicle, that you drive, then you are more than likely subject to jury duty.

That mouthful said, I would like to suggest the following:

An Essay on the Trial By Jury by Lysander Spooner

It may give you a whole new attitude towards this public duty.

Haven't read the book, but I agree that jury duty is a duty that should be fulfilled if at all possible.

Personally, I'd love to serve on a jury, but I doubt that I ever will. One side, or the other, will come to the conclusion that they need an easier mark.

Chas, it gets pretty boring, you sit around the waiting room forever waiting to get selected. Then you sit around the courtroom waiting to be really selected, or dismissed. Then you watch the trial of some poor fool who is guilty as hell hoping the Judge won't put him in with a bunch of hardened criminals who will smarten him up so he can do a better job of it the next time.
