I didn't realize/remember that one week after their historic appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show in NY, they appeared on his show in Miami, with a much longer set (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMA2pfY9Fpc&feature=related). Apparently that was about the same time as the Cassius Clay-Sonny Liston Fight. I think that there are a lot of people in my generation nostalgic for the '60s.

EDIT: I guess it was three weeks in a row. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=fvwp&v=GOajsikRmOc&NR=1) It was kind of funny to hear Ed gushing over their manners, when they were shagging everything in sight during their tour through the states.

D-Ray

My mom was at the first Beatles Ed Sullivan show performance. She was in her late twenties. I still have the Meet the Beatles album on the Capital label she brought home a few weeks later. Meet the Beatles was their second album released in the US.

1964 was the year I moved back from 3 years in Mannheim, Germany as an elementary school kid. My sister, who is 4 years older than I am, was a big Beatles fan in Germany before they made their big splash here.

I was still hanging out where ever I was before this life. Had another eight years to go before I joined you all here on the 3rd rock.....
