This is an interesting article. It shows several attempts at graphically representing the differing views about the proper role of government. I certainly have a lot more to digest, but it is thought provoking.

This blogger seems to reflect some of the comments that Merrylander and Charles have posted here. At a minimum the article addresses the pitfalls of trying to affix political labels to people.

I want to read it again but in the meantime I took the test they linked to in the article. It says I am a Left Social Moderate. Left: 6.53, Libertarian: 0.98.

My Foreign Policy Views. Score: -5.44

My Culture War Stance. Score -5.87

Should we compare scores?

Sorry, guess that was too brief a reply. The initial article (for lack of a better word) reminded me of a time back in Bell when someone in higher management got all enthusiastic about some business scheme from the Harvard Business School. There were all sorts of neat diagrams like that. I was never exposed to more unmitigated bullshit in my life.

My results shouldn't be too surprising.

Far-left, social libertarian.

Left 7.94, Libertarian 4.58

Foreign Policy Stance -6.77 Culture War Stance -4.11

Left Moderate Social Authoritarian

Left- 5.87

Authoritarian- 1.33

Foreign Policy- -2.83

Culture- -2.69

That's about right.
