Putin in responding to the question says he might run for a 4th term.

Please Sir do not yield to that temptation.

I believe you have done well enough given the mess Yeltsin left.

Now please step back.

People actually voted for FDR. I know this, I've met some of them. Does anyone really like Putin? Besides GWB, that is?

That being said two terms is enough. I wish we could get congress limited to two. The fact that we can't proves where the real power center lies.

Well, if they're both elected to 4 terms they would have that in common.

term limits are a cop out for lazy voters

I would have no problem if Putin's election was truly democratic.

If you do not like a person do not vote for them. If they are doing a good job let them stay.

I believe that leaders who stay in power too long tend to get overbearing and start to acquire messianic complex.

Our own mayor Blombie schemed with others and overturned term limits
and in his last term was such a different person, he became extremely intolerant of other peoples view that citizens turned against him.

His protege Christine Quinn was recently unceremoniously dumped in a
recent mayoral primary. At first she looked like an easy winner until the
Blomberg negatives were attached to her.

In time of extraordinary crisis one mighty be tempted to give an extra
term to a leader who has exhibited crisis skills, but that is wrought with
extreme risk.

Putin whom I give credit for riding out the post Soviet storms should not
consider a 4th term.

There is considerable evidence he tampered with votes in his last election.

but I still think term limits are anti-democratic as long as elections are free

Unfortunately they are no longer free, just ask the Koch brothers.

Please Mam...no 4th term!!!!

Angela Merkel said yesterday after her repeated victory over progressive politics that she might run for a fourth term in 2017.

Merkel, Putin... sic transit gloria mundi.

Unfortunately although the process is more or less fair what with the Supremes denying voters and the Kochs spreading their lies the process gets bought.
