Me either. One of those damned things opened here a few months ago. I already know one person, a good friend, who goes there every freakin' day, trying to win back the money he lost the day before.

the casinos here take much of the income,I do not feel sorry for people that lose their house payment or bill money.that is why A lot of the more resonable members of some native american Nations feel there is no leadership.it is all focused on the casinos and the expansion of more.GEED has no boundries.

When we still had the timeshare in Nassau we went to the casino for fun. Got $20 worth of coins and played the slots, once the coins were gone that was it.

Not everyone can do that, Rob. In fact, if everyone could, there wouldn't be a "gaming" industry. There wouldn't be enough money in it.

I really worry about my friend......

A lot of the "Indians" behind these casinos aren't even Indians. Some, though Indian, aren't tribes in any real sense.

This (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graton_Rancheria) is who owns the casino here.

John from what I have been told the odds always favour the house, frex the casino got our $40 and we had fun. They had a dinner show that evening that was pretty good.

Maybe we are different we both quit smoking cold turkey.

Sounds like your friend needs a Gambler's Anonymous.

I think so.

Yeah, I quit smoking cold turkey in 1990, drinking cold turkey in 1987 (on the second try). I'm sort of proud of that but, at the same time, I recognize that I have addiction issues. I haven't gone near that casino and don't intend to.

This guy has the money to lose, so I think his ego got bruised. I like to walk through casino's occasionally (Tahoe) and may throw a few coins into the slots , but that's just about it. I believe casino's get to keep over 80% of the money gambled!

This is a comedy and there is a scene where Albert Brooks is pleading his case. Movie is dated though (1985).

I used to go to Las Vegas once or twice a year on business for about 20 years. At first, I gambled a little at Blackjack and generally won, but simply go bored of the whole scene. After the first few years, I would ceremoniously drop one quarter in the slot machine on the way out of the hotel after checking out (I don't even know if they have quarter slots anymore).

I would typically stay at casino hotels and eat breakfast in the casinos, but didn't otherwise spend any time in them other than the occasional free lounge act of some sort of "has-been" band. I saw Doug Kershaw and a reincarnation of Canned Heat in that manner.
