Well my main rig at the new house is now 6 months old, and I'm ready to change it up. Those that followed me at AK years ago may remember this thread http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=302101 anyway, I've embarked on a hellishly intense refresh project of not only all my marantz stuff, but every piece of gear I own. *grin* so once again, I've returned to conquer marantz mountain once again as I did back in 2010. First up and tonight's project was refreshing this 2220b. The knobs had started crackling again, the face was starting to turn yellow, and a light was out so it was time

I pulled the knobs, face, and case. Cleaned everything replaced a light and put the cover back on. Unfortunately unlike when I lived in south Florida, I don't have a neighborhood stereo buddy to help so I'm climbing solo this time

Stay tuned. Many, many more to come!

Thought about it but I have bigger/better stuff to work on. I've got 2. 2270s and a 2285 that are right at almost meltdown point zero cause of old caps that need my help first. Who knows maybe they'll let me back in ak for help.. Doubt it though lol

First love were those silver faced Marantz receivers. I've got a stack here. If I ever hit the lotto I would buy a pair of 9s and a 7c tubed Marantz. :)

You're talking about maybe ten bucks in parts and thirty minutes. Most values are common with other Marantz units.

Looks easy enough any way from here.

I just recapped a Adcom ACE 515 because of hum and tough as it was only took a hour tops.

I've a box of boards and bits from a 2245 and a 2230 if anyone ever needs stuff because it will likely be heading to the Howard County landfill otherwise. Even more Yamaha bits and pieces.
