Federal Judge to Quit Post; He Faced Abuse Charge

By JADA F. SMITHMAY 29, 2015

A federal judge who was arrested last summer in Atlanta on accusations of domestic abuse resigned on Friday.

The judge, Mark E. Fuller of the Middle District of Alabama, was arrested and charged with battery in August when Kelli Fuller, then his wife, called the police from a Ritz-Carlton in Atlanta, saying he had assaulted her during an argument about her suspicions that he was having an extramarital relationship with a law clerk.

Judge Fuller entered a pretrial diversion program, which he completed. That led to the dismissal of the criminal charges. Still, the pressure on him to resign continued. He also remains under investigation by a five-judge panel.

On Friday, Judge Fuller sent a two-sentence letter to President Obama, saying, “It has been an honor and privilege to serve.” His resignation will be effective on Aug. 1.

Seems to be a lot of family values conservatives in the news these days with Denny Hastert and whatnot. ;)

One has to wonder when are the Repubs going to resurrect Larry Craig...

I hadn't heard this part, cool. :)
CHICAGO (AP) — A Christian college in suburban Chicago has removed the name of former U.S. House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert from an academic research center.
Wheaton College announced Sunday that what had been known as the J. Dennis Hastert Center for Economics, Government and Public Policy is now just named after the school.Link (http://news.yahoo.com/christian-college-removes-hasterts-name-indictment-193008881--election.html;_ylt=AwrTccEiamtVV20AkuMnnIlQ;_ylu=X 3oDMTByb2lvbXVuBGNvbG8DZ3ExBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwN zcg--)

They sure do scrub 'em out of existence pretty quick, except for Pastor Hucksterbee. He's holding on to that Duggar kid pretty hard.

"The jury was deadlocked twice.[7] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Fuller#cite_note-7) Fuller then told the jury they had the potential for “a lifetime job for you as a juror,” noting that he had “a lifetime appointment” and was “a very patient person," and the jury convicted the following day" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Fuller

Threatening a jury? Looks like coercion to me.
