This won't help matters. Triple digits expected this weekend.

I'm up in Minneapolis now, heading to the Duluth this afternoon. Nice and cool here at night and in the morning with a pleasant afternoon warm-up. Nice folks, too.

Napa in flames. http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-wildfire-spreads-napa-valley-evacuations-ordered-20150723-story.html

Pretty grim. Fortunately, the fire is about 20 miles, straight line distance, from Napa and the area's largely unpopulated.

Gov. Brown declares a state of emergency. :(

And that's a different fire from the one in the OP (which is still burning). That one's about 20 miles east of Napa. This one's around 60 miles north.

Not real close to the fires, but the air has been smoky and bothering my eyes. Not so bad considering some people are losing their homes..... I shouldn't complain about itchy eyes.

I hope so much that no firefiighter will be killed on his duty!

Barbara you are right. We have the hottest summer here since the beginning of weather recordings in 1881 - and I am suffering from severe circulation problems, insomnia and tinnitus for nine weeks now, but the loss of a home is much much worse!

Sad news, but unfortunately we had to reckon with that. The wildfire is so big and there are so many firefighters. Prayers sent to family and friends...!

Very big and getting bigger. 65,000 acres (26,300 hectares) and only 12% contained. And it's not alone.
