Well...More than they usually are.

"The U.S. Supreme Court’s affirmation of a constitutional right for same-sex couples to marry has set off an explosion of fear-mongering among conservative pundits, radio preachers and religious lobbyists. Devout people have the right to believe homosexuality is a sin and marriage is meant only for a man and woman, but those who are spreading preposterous scare stories and misleading the good folks in the evangelical community deserve to be outed as self-serving false prophets." You'd be surprised how many in TN vote democrat and are against it. It isn't just a right wing rumble.

Your link shows that 3 people in Decatur County TN (population 11,757) resigned. Not exactly a title wave Hillbilly.

And no mention of party affiliation for these three.

However Romney won that county 68%-31% in 2012 so I wouldn't call that area a democratic stronghold.

While what you say may be true, the article you linked to fails to make your point. Nowhere does it state that either the "entire" three clerks who resigned or the people who "over and over again" praised their decision are Democrats.

So, Hillbilly, if a gay couple were to get married wearing Confederate uniforms and if there were a Confederate Battle Flag on top of the cake, would that be okay?

Not trying to use a stronghold at all. Just said what I was thinking about and before I forgot, shared a link about people quitting. I have no idea who they vote for. I don't live there.

I was referring to this. Where I live, I spent many years on the ball field, many. Many, many of parents men and women alike, democrat or republican ALL were of the same opinion when gay rights came up. Yes, you learn alot about folks at the ball park, at school during basketball games, etc. People talk about everything to everybody and most everyone agrees that it is sick, is against their beliefs, and do not support it. And yes, people do talk about who they vote for, shit like that is no secret.

But know this, before putting words in my mouth about gays ( just in case someone tries to ), I Did Not give MY opinion of it in this post.

What the hell, I'll give my opinion. Or how I feel about it. Personally I feel it is wrong. I do not support it, BUT, I also do not try to stand in anyones way. It is their life, not mine. Like I said before, I don't speak out against it but if it comes a day I see a preacher forced to make a choice of going against the church's belief or step down then will be the time I become outspoken.

Religious fights are the worst. No one ever wants to back down.

This is one reason why guns in church is such a terrible idea.

http://forward.com/opinion/311487/when-alabama-compares-gay-marriage-to-the-holocaust/

If you’d even consider asking “What’s the difference?” between Nazi Germany’s systematic murder of six million Jews and legal gay marriage, consider running for a seat on Alabama’s State Supreme Court. Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore made just that comparison on June 29.

“Could I do this if I were in Nuremberg… say that I was following the orders of the highest authority to kill Jews?… Could I say I was ordered to do so?” The shocked interviewer reminded Moore that the Nuremberg trials had been about murder, not gay marriage. “Is there a difference?” he asked.

Moore’s comments were echoed by his personal attorney, Win Johnson, whom Moore appointed director of the legal staff of the state’s Administrative Office of Courts. Johnson was incensed by Governor Robert Bentley’s statement that he personally disagreed with the ruling, but would “uphold the law of the nation and this is now law.” He responded to the Governor in a letter that opened with “Jesus Christ is Lord of All.”

And then it got really weird.

Johnson called public officials “ministers of God assigned the duty of punishing the wicked and rewarding the righteous,” and warned the Governor about using “the Nazi war-crimes trial defense: ‘My superiors (or the courts) told me to do it.’ You’re not standing for the rule of law when you capitulate to a law that defies God and exposes people to the wicked.”

If all these God fearing opinionated idiots really believe that we are made in God's image then I guess it is His fault that some people are attracted to their own sex. If anyone out there is convinced that people are that way by choice then they are frankly to stupid for words,

Than there is this equally idiotic idea that marriage is solely for procreation. Really,, so what about people who marry later in life when their child bearing years are past?

Oh and BTW Article IV Section 1 of the Constitution says the every state must recognize the laws, etc of every other state (as long as those laws etc are in line with the Constitution).

In case you are wondering we are straight - just not narrow.:p

More crazy shit from the right.

It's pretty entertaining.:)

“Christians are being taken off the face of the earth,” End Times radio host Rick Wiles warned last week, citing a prophecy that President Barack Obama would begin a “martial law” campaign against religious freedom. (In a moment of epic talking-point singularity, one blog even wondered if Jade Helm, the military training exercise the right believes is a prelude to martial law, will be used to implement the Court’s decision.)

“We are in the Soviet Union now,” conservative radio host Michael Savage intoned on his show this week

“Gays will cheer,” he continued. “As they start throwing pastors in prison, you’ll see who’ll cheer them. Next we’ll get the arena and the lions, get the arena and the lions and bring them in from Tunisia.”

"It is not about the institution of marriage; it is about having the protection, the legal status, it's about using that as a hammer to crush anyone who believes in objective reality,” he said this week to Matt Barber. “This is literally a satanic attack.”

“We can talk about a flag all we want, but the Devil is taking control of this land,” said State Senator Lee Bright of South Carolina, diverting a debate Monday about the Confederate flag to bemoan the Satan-induced fall of American morality on the Senate floor.

“Underneath the left’s golden cobblestones of good will, not far down the road they are taking America, is the left’s utopia — you will come to know it as hell,” WorldNetDaily’s Craige McMillan asserted,

“Underneath the left’s pretty face, it has only ever been about raw, naked power. They view humanity as endlessly malleable and themselves as the sculptor. Having ascended to the levers of statist power from the institutions they first corrupted, they now intend to use that power to reshape men, women and children into their own creation.”
“Only two paths now lie ahead,” he concluded. “Repentance or destruction.”

Or resistance. “There’s a coming a day, I believe, that many Christians personally and churches corporately will need to practice civil disobedience on this issue.”

Such was the warning of Jack Graham, Prestonwood Baptist Church preacher, just one week before the Supreme Court ruled on same-sex marriage. Graham said that 16 million Baptists were “prepared to go to jail” if the ruling went against them.

“In the Spirit of Daniel the prophet and MLK the reverend, we Christians must now engage, as relates our peaceful response to the imposition of counterfeit same-sex ‘marriage,’ in widespread civil disobedience,” Barber wrote, one of many attempts to hitch Martin Luther King, Jr. to the cause. “It’s the right thing to do. In fact, it’s a sin if we don’t.”

“As many in the early church refused to bow a knee to Caesar in worship, so, too, will many modern Christians refuse, under any circumstances, to obey any court opinion or man-made law that presumes to make sin obligatory.”

See right-wing blogger Sylvia Thompson, who warned that civil disobedience was the only thing stopping the fascistic rise of gay Nazism.

“It is a given that the pernicious court system aided by a lawless Obama administration will act viciously toward opposing Christians, with a force matching that of Hitler’s Nazi regime,” she wrote last week.

“More and more Americans will be persecuted, prosecuted, and imprisoned as this Court ruling goes into effect…[and] eventually the persecuted will stop accepting lawless court rulings that result in their bankruptcy and Naziesque brainwashing sessions (‘sensitivity training’) that are punishment for noncompliance with evil…All of America will then grasp what homofascism truly means, as the Germans eventually grasped what Nazism meant.”

Who’s gonna run with this lump of genius? Whitewater Crossing Christian Church senior paster David Vaughn, that’s who. After all, if men can marry men now, why can’t he marry bacon?!?

“My wife has suspected it for quite some time,” he wrote. “My family has accepted it. I hope you do too. In fact, I demand it, so don’t criticize me or be intolerant. That would be ‘ham’aphobic. This doesn’t hurt ‘non-bacon’ marriages in any way, and I’ve been reading all kinds of scientific journals that tell me it won’t hurt my children (bacon bits) either since they will be in a home of love.”

“The definition of Marriage has evolved like society, and I am so glad that now my sizzling union is protected by the Constitution, and promoted by my president. I may even flirt some with my new bride’s sister — turkey-bacon. I’m going to go hog wild.”

Funny thing is that sex is decided at conception (Chromosomes) but genitalia are common to both sexes until around the 5th month when they begin to assume the appropriate shape. So who is to say the one's preference in mates might not have gone in the "right" direction during this process?

As a kid, dealing with large herds of livestock I used to see farm animals on occasion that had both sex organs. So I guess humans gender can go either way, or both too. Really there are humans born with both, just we hardly ''hear about it.'' I can see that being hard for someone to talk about.
