So there is this very entertaining thread at AK started by "globalwarming". (Just go to the members list, then search member "globalwarming" and then check the list of his threads.)

Analysis shows two possible explanations:

Known unknown: You know you don't know how to spell Harman Kardon, but you don't care--any guess will be good enough.

Unknown unknown: You don't know that you don't know how to spell Harman Kardon-- Hardon Carmen actually seems right to you.

The only question is which is more common--moderate ignorance combined with apathy, or deep ignorance.

Ha - that is a good analysis!

As you might guess (username Harman Kardon in three forums) I have a closer relationship to this brand and its vintage Hifi products than a lot of other vintage Hifi or Harman Kardon aficionados...

You will love Harman Kardon until they sue you for unlawful use of a trademark.

Yeah - but this has nothing to do with wrong spelling. ;)

Some five harman kardon (Pio - okay) TA 230 Stereo Festival receiver from 1958 (first stereo receiver ever) exist in Europe. I got two of them. One of them with a woodcase made of twelve layers birchwood and one layer American walnut finish.

Harmin' Carbon?

Hardly Common?
JK Chris, but truth be told, whenever I see it misspelled
I do my human spellchecker thing and correct it ...

This thread reminds me a bit of a Galapagos tortoise. However - nice to see it still alive.
