Congratulation here also.

I have never read any of her books and will over time order some of the recommended ones. The Soviet system never took too kindly to strong
individuals.

ENCHANTED WITH DEATH - "Many people felt inseparable from the Communist ideology and unable to accept the new order" (From the link) is a book I might find interesting being that I was taken aback by Russians and Ukrainians who were granted refugees status here and still rue the collapse of the Soviet Union.

A little note: It is somewhat unfortunate the award was made at this time: proximity to the election in Belarus.

You loves you some despots, dontcha?

By the way, nobody gets "80-84%" of any vote.

Uh, I didn't see one word of praise for Lukashenko in Dondi's post.

Now there was a :D, but that certainly is at least as likely to be an ironic comment on the reported vote total, as it is to be happiness with Lukashenko's victory....

Thanks Donq...an ironic comment. Probably I should have used the frown.

I calls 'em as I sees 'em.

In this case, I read dond's post within the context of his PC oeuvre.
