Is there a possibility pardons were issued but held back in secret?
Kept in the pocket for if and when they are needed. Thinking if well known now would influence the upcoming trial in the senate.

Trump and Justice Dept. Lawyer Said to Have Plotted to Oust Acting Attorney General
Trying to find another avenue to push his baseless election claims, Donald Trump considered installing a loyalist, and had the men make their cases to him.

https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/22/u...-election.html

Quote:

WASHINGTON — The Justice Department’s top leaders listened in stunned silence this month: One of their peers, they were told, had devised a plan with President Donald J. Trump to oust Jeffrey A. Rosen as acting attorney general and wield the department’s power to force Georgia state lawmakers to overturn its presidential election results.

The unassuming lawyer who worked on the plan, Jeffrey Clark, had been devising ways to cast doubt on the election results and to bolster Mr. Trump’s continuing legal battles and the pressure on Georgia politicians. Because Mr. Rosen had refused the president’s entreaties to carry out those plans, Mr. Trump was about to decide whether to fire Mr. Rosen and replace him with Mr. Clark.

The department officials, convened on a conference call, then asked each other: What will you do if Mr. Rosen is dismissed?

The answer was unanimous. They would resign.
Treason most foul.

Repubs will undoubtedly be demanding that justice be done.

Where is this Jeffrey Clark, the man who proposed to make Georgia again howl. I wonder how he thought he would do it?

The FBI is going to want to see him. He'll need a lawyer, but he may want to wait and get the court to appoint one. The ones who would do the job voluntarily? The courts don't seem to like that kind.

I think the Biden Justice dept. must come down hard on these traitors and seditionists. Their offence is much to severe for free passes or slaps on the wrist. You plot to overthrow the democratic process you need to pay a heavy price.

Hell yes.

Is it actually worth the effort?

Well, I understand that after the Capitol Riot, the indignation amongst civilized human beings all around the world was huge. But the impeachment will not succeed - hey - 17 GOP votes?

So the impeachment will fail, the Orange Monster will be victorious once again, and the whole thing will fall with verve on Biden's feet.

Have to try and get the truth out. Hoping once on the record will open some eyes and also lead to others guilt.. Daylight is a good disinfectant!
This will take time and our country can't allow this evil to fester in the shadows any longer.

A second impeachment is overreach. Biden should just concentrate on giving more of the fiat money directly to the people.

Oerets 01-24-2021 07:00 AM

If one still fails to see or even consider any wrong doing by the former president. Little in a way of any argument put forth would seem to be useful. Wasted time spent on little chance of doing any good.
Every day new facts are coming out on what was attempted in the efforts to stay in power.
The conclusion of the trail needs to be in the prevention of the ability to serve in any elected office again!

There is still a failure to address/recognize some of the main grievances of Trump supporters...globalization and uncontrolled immigration.

It is good to observe that the new Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin recognizes the implications of the rapid rise of China. I appreciate that he is not afraid to speak boldly even though he finds himself among so many cold warriors.

I will agree that a portion of or country have been losers forgotten about. The search for profit over citizens with globalization and unchecked immigration are problems.

Been going on for many years. I lost a great job in 1982 due to outsourcing.
So know first hand seeing a job go out of the country because of profit to the top.

On immigration, simple fix, any and all employers landlords ect. who facilitate hiring, shelter loss of business or property.
GONE!

The who will hire them or rent......cause the probables too!

Dondilion 01-24-2021 09:29 AM

The pandemic has exacerbated the problems facing the people. Biden's response should be tailored to draw and or neutralize the support of some of Trump's voters. The result of the senate races in Georgia indicated that some of such voters are amenable to economic inducement...the refusal of the republican senate leadership to give a little to the people was striking. Biden's bold commitment saved the day.

It's time to leave the impeachment game.

The printing of fiat has been on for a long time. Those who benefitted have been the ones close to printing; for example, the bankers and friends who have converted fiat into real assets.

Now is the time for the people to get a portion of the printing. The US can afford a measure of printing because of its unique position of having the reserve currency of the world. So far it appears that Biden understands that and is not afraid to use his printer.

Rubio, translated: “Yes, I know that Donald Trump stood in the middle of 5th Avenue and shot & killed a bunch of people. But if we put him on trail and convict him, his supporters are going to be really, really angry. No, right now we need “unity” & “healing.” So let’s move on.”

Rubio on Fox on impeachment trial: I think the trial is stupid. I think it’s counterproductive. We already have a flaming fire in this country and it’s like taking a bunch of gasoline and pouring it on top of the fire.

Explosive new book claims the KGB began grooming 'young and vain' Donald Trump 40 years ago by saving him from financial ruin and turned him into a Russian asset who gave Putin 'everything he wanted' as president

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ok-claims.html

No doubt about it.

donquixote99 01-26-2021 10:48 PM

Just in case anyone has forgotten, as the GOP is suggesting everyone do:

The president of the United States, with the broad approval of GOP leaders, systematically attempted to invalidate millions of votes from disproportionately minority voters. When that effort failed, Trump invited a mob to Washington, whipped up its resentments, directed it toward Capitol Hill, urged it to intimidate legislators and disrupt a constitutional process, challenged it to “fight,” and then refused to intervene while domestic terrorists hunted for Vice President Mike Pence and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in the hallways of the Capitol.

--Michael Gerson, "Many Republicans are choosing collective amnesia of Jan. 6. That would be disastrous," Washington Post, January 25, 2021

RickeyM 01-27-2021 07:27 AM

Democrat president had done what #DiaperDon has done the Repukes would have had him or her impeached and convicted about two weeks ago. If someone like Barack Obama had done it the republican rabble would have stormed the WH and tried to burn it down.

Wasn't that the first impeachment trial

HarmanKardon 01-27-2021 03:42 PM

As I mentioned earlier in this thread - in my opinion this second impeachment was not a good idea. It will needlessly disturb the work in the new government.

Wasted time. In Covid times, any second counts. Not many Americans have realized this yet. However - the Demorats will pee on their feet and Donald will celebrate another schizophrenic victory.

Regarding this competiton:

Blue: 5 out of 15 points
Red: 15 out of 5 points
(literally)

You democrats still havt to learn a lot. And very fast.

It may be all for nought in the end to most. I feel even so a stand needs to be taken for history. Put the facts out and have a trial. No one is above the law, or we will soon see. Trust me Biden and crew are able to walk chew gum and talk on the phone at the same time.

Delegate.

The Republicans will use the trial as a reason to obstruct. They were going to anyway, now will have the trial as the reason.

If not for Trump then who?
Really?

The history books will be many and filled with more crimes we have not even considered. Not able to before the 20th to gain access to the data.

There are cult members now looking a serious time ahead. You think for one minute deals are not being cut for testimony?

Our country has a history of being a little slow getting going. But once set on the path get things done!

Recent events caused me to ask a cult members today as a matter of fact. If there started to be child molesters marching in support for trump. Would they still be associated with him?

Did not answer me, just ask me why I even asked this.

My answer was just wanted to know what the threshold was..... Not now evidently since Nazi's Racists White Supremacists people wanting overthrow an election and kill to do it.
