A useless esoteric concern

When I started reading AK, followed by Political Chat, I had not participated much in conversations on the web. I always felt off balance when more than one forum were referred to as forums. I wonder how many web-surfers would be thrown for a loop if we used formally proper grammar and referred to the multiple areas for discussion as fora rather than forums?
