Here is the last paragraph of this news report.

"The order does not address in any way whether the callers are suspected of wrongdoing. There also is no indication of whether the order is a renewal of an ongoing practice, or if other phone carriers follow the same procedure."

...and 'some people' are up in arms about two days of the same data from a s**t azzed Faux News reporter?

What makes you think it is only Verizon?

If you have internet or pay for television content (Cable, Satellite et cetera..) your every move is known now.

Isn't that the NSA does? I remember a tv news story like 60 minutes would do about the building in SF where all the fiber optic and stuff that goes under the Pacific Ocean and is routed through an IIRC AT&T building and the NSA has a monitoring room there.

MainCore. Every single post call and email is vetted for certain words which are then handed over to a human operative.

"The order, signed by Florida federal Judge Roger Vinson, went into effect April 25 and extends until July 19."

So chances are that this is response to Boston Marathon bombing that occurred Apeil 15th.

Then there is this: "The top-secret court order, obtained by the Guardian newspaper, requires the carrier to hand over information regarding phone calls — which does not include actual conversations — on an “ongoing, daily basis” to the FBI.
Guardian is a UK newspaper and so much for top US secrets.:(

Great knowledge.

This was a routine renewal of such warrants that go back to 2006. Unlike what is being portrayed by the Right Wing noise machine, these are phone records used by NSA to help fill in the blanks about terrorist networks. It is not wire-tapping (i.e., listening in on calls), but getting records of calls placed after the fact that are then fed into computer to try to figure out said networks. If judges have been routinely granting the waiver under existing provisions of the Patriot Act for the past 7 years, it is not an indictment of Obama, but of the Patriot Act itself. If the Right is now so concerned about this program that they birthed, they should be the first to step up and try to repeal it.

Flailing feeble right hook it seems now. And here I thought we would have a new scandal.

Pete, better check your new cell phone for spyware. :D
