Gap year funding?

My daughters going on a gap year in 2010, teaching English to schoolchildren in Thailand. It's arranged by Project Trust; a registered charity in the U.K. This link gives full details;

So in for a penny. I appreciate Political Chat is primarily an American site, but does anyone here have pockets deep enough to help send a 17 year old to teach English in Thailand? More to the point perhaps, does anyone know of any charitable trusts operating in the U.S.A. that can sponsor people outside the U.S.A. It's not just fun in the sun; teaching children of all ages to speak the most universally recognized language in the world is hard work.

That sounds like an exciting challenge for a young person and a tremendous learning experience. You should be proud of her willingness to take it on. Unfortunately, we can't offer any help right now, as we are in negative cashflow right now sending two boys to the university.

Great program and great life experience from what I can tell.

All citizens of the world should give back to the global community.

Good stuff.

You could try thr Bill and Melinda Gates foundation as they seem to prefer spending their money off-shore rather than here, someone might as well benefit.

The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation is another place you might try.
