Shame it happened.
There are always many such occurrences in every space programs. Costly, will hopefully help the next launch. |
First launch of this rocket. If you have no problems on the first launch do you trust the design? No! Not a failure as they probably have a lot of really good data.

Not a fan of Musk, but my understanding is that for this initial test they were happy it made it off the ground at all.

If I were deciding whether SpaceX gets another dollar from the US Treasury it would require that Musk has nothing to do with it. (Gratuitous insult deleted.) |
Looks like the market is saying the new car smell and his rocket bilge wash has lost it's cachet.
"Shares of Tesla tumbled nearly 10% Thursday following its disappointing earnings report on Wednesday evening, as it reported that its profit margins fell below the 20% mark that analysts had been forecasting. The price cuts might have allowed it to increase sales volume, but revenue was down from fourth-quarter levels as a result, and which led to the squeeze on profits." https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/tops...b42ab002&ei=24 Elon dudebro has no business in the retail market. Whether it's cars or emeralds. |

Anyhow I do not think the US government is going to be that particular, that holy. Check "Operation Paperclip". Mr Hyperloop is a dreamer whom the military industry dearly cherishes. |
