Poland's thrust for more self reliance.

Poland Law and Justice Party rues the fact that a significant section of the heights of the economy is foreign owned, and laments the money being sucked out of the country.

Its counter - a thrust for self reliance.

(Poles wake up to discover that foreigners especially, ironically, Germans own their country.)

That's private property for you. Money can buy it, and does.

You put it succinctly...a particular skill of yours.

The Polish Govt is up against a steep hill. The locals are not into saving. :(

The Polish government is up against the Germans and others to a lessor degree. It's their capital.

Germany, by dint of hard work and a saving ethic has achieved what it failed to do in WW11.

The exit of UK will increase Germany's stature in the Euro zone.

I suspect this - German dominance - must be hard for the Poles to accept.

The Polish ruling party effort to install needed s@sialist policies, such as a safety net, while at the same time slowing foreign investment will make it more difficult for Poland to regain ownership of the salient parts of the economy.

The exit of the UK and the US. If the Poles see it as a choice between German and Russian dominance, with Ukraine as prolong, Western ties may be more palatable.
