Happy Birthday FDR!

Happy Birthday to FDR:
He began the social safety net with Social Security
He lead through the Great Depression
He lead us in the destruction of fascism by harnessing our Arsenal for Democracy to defeat the forces of evil.

The best President besides Lincoln.

I really believe it..I am not being hyperbolic.

Radicalism and demagoguery were both in full swing when FDR became president. For better or worse, he can be credited with saving capitalism.

I see parallels today with Rush Limbaugh and Beck...they are sort of like Fahter Coughlin, but with out the social justice bent. The latter sort of went from supporting the New Deal in the early days to anti-semitism and some pro Fascist sentiments.

We need a national holiday to honor him, not in Feb. with those other guys.

Happy Birthday, Mr President. And, thank you for your strong leadership.

".....who had come to regard the federal government as a mere appendage of thier own personal affairs....they have met their match....they hate me, and I welcome their hatred."

That's how it's done.

Regards,
Dave

Indeed!:) There's my favorite Presidential quote of all of them. Right ahead of, "Ask not what your country can do for you....";)
