I can't make a call on this but do know Ryan's decision, to endorse Trump or not, will be based on what he thinks is best for his political future and NOTHING else.

Trump, IMO feels he has to do things "his" way. Given his sucess, only a fool would change now.

So what happens today?

my guess, nothing is resolved unless Ryan insults Donald again in which case Donald will remove him as convention chairman.

I see a fantastic opportunity for Trump in all this. He can go on stage at the convention and claim he has effectively purged teh GOP of the "problems." The Bush's, Romney's and many old school Washington elitists.

What a great way to launch a campaign again Hill. "I cleansed the GOP of the the elites now only Hillary stands between the establishment and the people!"

Who knows? They'll likely say a bunch of pleasant things about having a nice meeting, yada, yada, yada, but in the end it means little. Women, Hispanics, gays, young people and "the blacks" still won't support Trump and demographics is destiny.

This meeting is akin to rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

I hope Trump squashes that little prick like a bug.

As always, I respect your opinion but as you have read in many of my posts since last summer, I just can't see Hill being elected no matter who the GOP nominee would have been. This I said while supporting her which I still may, likely will. I have seen nothing to dissuade me of this opinion.

Both guys are tethered to their positions. If Trump acquiesces to Ryan, he'll lose the more rabid elements in his base. If Ryan acquiesces to Trump, he (and others like him) lose their party to a foul-mouthed neo-fascist. Hence, I expect lots of nice words that'll do nothing to change this dynamic.

I don't think Ryan realizes how TRump can put a dagger in his political future because he is so invested in the "system."

These guys really don't get the depth of anti Washington sentiment on main street.

I can see Trump sticking him in a "conservative" establishment corner thereby relegating him to the 30% of the GOP vote with no other, as Cruz is now stuck with.

Good comment about Trump the deal maker although part of making good deals is walking away from bad deals. ;)

Perhaps to someone who yearns for authoritarian rule. A number of his policies align, however, with fascists in the past. I want no part of it.
