Snark Attack!

Anyone else finding AK getting snarlier and snarkier all the time? A case in point:
http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/ind...please.726010/

And it took 5 posts before someone bothered to answer the OP's question - and they were completely wrong.

It's getting so that I almost never read AK any more and post even less often.

It's a Snarknado! :D

donquixote99 07-24-2016 03:12 PM

Uh, that's not very snarky snark....

I knew the handwriting was on the wall when they voted Dan (4-2-7) Member of the Year.

AK is still a good place to go for reference, but I have not bothered to log in or post since January. yes there is some snarkiness but show me a place on the WWW that is not?

finnbow 07-24-2016 03:26 PM

I didn't find it particularly snarky at all. Seemed like a normal AK thread, past or present, to me.

Boreas 07-24-2016 03:35 PM

I didn't go looking for a particularly snarky example. That's just the one I saw today that started me thinking.

I think there are too many members and too many threads that it is a setup for flyby posts (no thinking required). Recently I have been amusing myself there but not in the audio sections. I would be afraid to pose a simple question there.

The OP got a pretty quick answer to his question without much fuss. Alll is well in AKville. And botrytis will be botrytis. :)

Ain't this a hoot? :D

People on this forum complaining about snarkiness on another forum?

(I offer some of my own posts as examples! :))

If I want snark, I come here. I have no desire to participate in PC type shenannigans on AK.

Indeed.

I hadn't noticed much snark going on, the usual targets i.e. Bose and Technics S-1200-II have had a long break.
I otherwise am losing interest in keeping up as most postings are reoccurring newbie topics I've little interest.
Sometimes something interesting pops up and rewards a visit, but not often.

I don't even remember the last time I looked at AK. I still have my gear and all of my Lps, Tapes, etc......... But that part of my life seems to be fading.

They did. He'd become quite popular for being very active in charity work on the site.

AK is moderated quite differently than this place, of course. People often behave differently in different places.

I always stick up for the Klipsch Reference series when the usual harsh Heresy horn stereotype is spread like a big blanket over the whole speaker line.

I always want to say just get an Adcom GFA 535, a decent preamp, some good speakers and be done with it!

Pio1980 07-25-2016 11:05 AM

I'm only familiar with the earlier theatre inspired expo horn based series. The later Tratrix horn systems were supposed to be better.
I have three of the GFA-535 tho only one is in use as a loaner in Atlanta.

I have some Synergy's and RB-5s they sound really detailed, and the RB-5s really separate the voice from the instruments in a cool way.

I think the Adcom 535 is just sweet and a great deal at $100 a pop. I play it more than the Mitsubishi DA-A15DC I have hooked up to the same preamp although that ones sounds great too.

I will buy the Heresys when I find if for $40 somewhere lol.
