I disagree completely. Kim dumb young is as egotistical as Trump. He is nuts. He does not think things through. He will launch, I doubt he will actually make a hit, either because of accuracy or because we deter it.

If he could think things through, he would realize that even if he had a nuke or two, it could not possibly deter us. And further, his having a nuke is a motivator for usto attack. This is why I think he will attempt a full fledged nuclear attack(one missle). He has not thought this through or he would have stopped.

Wow. That's pretty nuts. How do you know he's that nuts?

I disagree with your proposition that "He has not thought this through or he would have stopped." A minimal nuclear capability is useful to a nation like North Korea, because it deters us from trying a forcible regime change. We would be risking atomic-level casualties if we tried that now, so we won't. Just by existing, his nukes protect him. He is not crazy to want that.

I don't know he is that nuts, it is my read on him. Here again, based on what he has done and said. A nuke could be a deterrent. But having a nuke and repeatedly saying he is going to destroy us are two different things. His threats must be taken seriously as the consequences are two great not too. Again, evidence of his not thinking things through. Again, egotistical and nuts. This then begs the question, do we take action before he launches to stop him, or do we take action after he launches? Or, do we sit by and hope his threats and program will never be used?

my take away anyways.

Kim saw Qaddafi toppled by Western forces after we promised him that he could retain his regime if he gave up his nukes. He also saw Saddam toppled after suspicions of WMD's. He doesn't want us to have suspicions about his nukes (i.e., he wants us to know he has them and is willing to use them), nor does he want to give them up and suffer Qaddafi's fate. Moreover, China doesn't want a unified Western Korea on its border. And there you have it.
