Ben Carson - "Joseph Built Pyramids to Store Grain"

I suppose it's such profound stupidity that endears him to the Bible-thumpers.

A perfect TP candidate.......

Go ahead, re-write history to suit your ignorance Carson....the TP crowd loves to live in their own little fantasy world.....

And some polls show that idiot savant ahead of Clinton!

They say that one of the things that destroyed the Roman Empire is that the Romans basically went slowly nuts because of the lead pipes they used fortheir drinking water. Maybe Fox News will prove to be our lead pipe.

Jesus Christ!

Don't you have to learn some science in order to be a neuro-surgeon.?

Ben Carson is addicted to gnostic thinking. Gnostics get off on thinking they know the truth that most of the misled people walking around have missed. Your more fringe religions are packed with gnostics. Being a gnostic is very attractive to people because they gain a way to think they are very special.

It's one thing to have a creative idea like 'Joseph built the pyramids for grain storage.' It's another thing to, having had the idea, to like it so much that you stick to it and reject the the tons of information that contradict it. That is gnosticism taken to the level of a personality disorder.

I don't think it's in that DSM book, but it should be....

From the Wapo link:

Quote:

“It’s amazing how one can be a neurosurgeon and a dimwit at the same time,” one person tweeted, echoing a common refrain.
I know for a fact that pre-med students take very easy courses in science to maintain their near perfect grade point averages. But this is mind boggling and convinces me that most physicians are one trick ponies not to mention the God complex they suffer from. In Carson we are seeing this in spades.

“Well of course he has no answer for that. They never have an answer for any of these things,” he concludes, broadening his story into a universal. “And see that’s the wonderful thing about having a relationship with God. God has already told us what happened, so we don’t have to come up with fanciful theories so that we can take the place of God. We don’t have to do that.”

Intellectual laziness at its finest.

Tell me, Doctor; Did all that information you learned in medical school come from the Bible?

I'm thinking it didn't.

maybe old Ben figured out that wheat goes in on one side and Aish comes out on the other. sorta like a ancient bread maker?

In the OR it is ok if you act like the Best or think you are the Best...I can't take that away from people who save lives. Now if you think you can transfer your surgical skills to the White House you may be delusional....

I agree with those who think Carson is simply pandering to the [religious/ignorant] right. There's no way he could really be so profoundly ignorant of basic scientific truths, unless he's turned cognitive dissonance into a life philosophy.
