It's Cold Outside
The moon is covering up half of the sun. Anybody in totality?
|
No totality here in eastern Massachusetts, we will get to 92% at 3:30 (Eastern Time) . I'm thinking beyond getting a bit dark it'll be the temperature drop that'll get the birds chirping.

Around 98% here in Louisville Ky.
Two paper plates one a pin hole. |
I don't know what percent coverage here in Baltimore, the home of the once proudly standing Francis Scott Key bridge. It was weird seeing how much the sun was covered, it looked a sliver of a crescent moon, and it was still pretty sunny out. It seemed like somebody turned down the brightness a bit but different than clouds coming over. It did get a couple degrees cooler until it passed tho'.
I had some of those cheesy cardboard solar eclipse sunglasses and my eyes still work fine. |
I drove 1/2 hour so we could relax in a small park and witness 2 minutes of totality. First time I've seen it and was glad I went. The corona, only visible at 100% totality, is very unique and lovely. The first microsliver of sun coming back, on dark-adjusted eyes, was an incredibly brilliant sudden burst of white. Whole thing beautiful!
