I just learned about this and how it is being used in the health care system in Europe. This might be old news that I am just now finding.... I do not know. But I really like the concept.

If they can find what's of concern to you, and a machine is handy, it's a great thing I'm sure. The dream machine would take a little blood and find anything and everything. In time....

Apparently, these devices are available in public places in Europe where people can use them for free and provide a sample right there and get an immediate read out of any medical conditions that you might not be aware of or that you might want to monitor.
They build components for those devices in the town I live in but they are not used in the United States.
My guess is that they are used in countries with universal health care. Our doctors a would never give up the money gained in an office visit for a machine than can give that kind of information.

I see what you mean. The web site you link to says the devices are licensed by the FDA for 'medium complexity labs' in the US. That does not mean some public place accessible to anyone.

Yes I'm sure that money/DC nexus is in full operation here.

Yes, I know the website was more about how the devices are used in the US in the medical system.
But, I am more interested in the use in Europe and the connection to universal health care and cost effectiveness.
I think I will do some googling....

Insurance companies sometimes lobby for cheaper health care alternatives. Mine is now urging me to see a doctor by video link, a zero cost to me, if I want to see a doc for a cold or the flu. This may make some sense— why should I go in with that stuff and expose everyone in the office?
