Cataract Surgery?

Long time, no see (see what I did, there?)

Have any of you communist heathens had cataract surgery? I made need it - all the info I can gather indicates it is a low risk, quickity quick outpatient procedure with excellent results.

Hope you all are well and those in Houston holding on as best you can.

Hiya Cats. I've had family that have had it done with good results. Do it.

I was watching the news about that tropical storm off the Carolinas, 'Irma'? Stay dry, you old reprobate. (grin)

My S.O. had both done and is the better for it.

Irma was a dud, we remain in our normal monsoon mode until November - rains like hell at 4:00PM, sun back out at at 6:00PM. F%$king rain forest - all I need are some monkeys and a couple of Nat Geo crews in the back yard . . .

Thank you - reading is one thing, good reports from those who have been there much more reassuring.

No one I know who's had this one has done anything except see a ton better. You'll love it.

I went for my preop appointment today and will have my left eye done on Thursday.
My right eye will be done in two weeks.
From everything I hear it is low risk with very good results.

Hope you have a good recovery.

Thanks, everyone - very, very reassuring! Y'all are awesome.

Barbara, what prompted your initial visit? I haven't gone to the ophthalmologist yet - just noticed last week blurred vision in the center of my right eye, left one fine. From reading and our family history I am assuming cataract. Initially thought it was just something in my eye, but the blurring remains.

Guess I'll know for sure after my initial examination.

I have regular visits to the eye doc due to the effects of Graves' disease. The doc has been recommending this surgery for quite some time but I kept putting it off. A couple of week ends ago I had to drive at night and could not see to drive. My vision has gotten worse in the last year, blurry and hard to see in dim light.
Since I'm looking at retiring before the year is over, I wanted to do this while I still have good insurance.
