Return to Marantz Mountian
Well my main rig at the new house is now 6 months old, and I'm ready to change it up. Those that followed me at AK years ago may remember this thread http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=302101 anyway, I've embarked on a hellishly intense refresh project of not only all my marantz stuff, but every piece of gear I own. *grin* so once again, I've returned to conquer marantz mountain once again as I did back in 2010. First up and tonight's project was refreshing this 2220b. The knobs had started crackling again, the face was starting to turn yellow, and a light was out so it was time
http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...a01a5025f3.jpg I pulled the knobs, face, and case. Cleaned everything replaced a light and put the cover back on. Unfortunately unlike when I lived in south Florida, I don't have a neighborhood stereo buddy to help so I'm climbing solo this time http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...8126d28b6c.jpg http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/...c501ec09d7.jpg Stay tuned. Many, many more to come! |
Might as well recap the pwr supply board now that it is open.

First love were those silver faced Marantz receivers. I've got a stack here. If I ever hit the lotto I would buy a pair of 9s and a 7c tubed Marantz. :)

Looks easy enough any way from here. I just recapped a Adcom ACE 515 because of hum and tough as it was only took a hour tops. Barney |
I've a box of boards and bits from a 2245 and a 2230 if anyone ever needs stuff because it will likely be heading to the Howard County landfill otherwise. Even more Yamaha bits and pieces.
