AudioKarma Going Black This Weekend

http://audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=645697

The AK website's software will be undergoing an upgrade during the weekend of March 7th thru the 8th.

I'm assuming PoliticalChat.org will be offline too.

Have a good weekend all of you political junkies.

Yes its really very sad..... AK was a beautiful site...........

CarlV 03-03-2015 10:59 AM

I hope that one of the new options is for the original AK look with the Paragon. :)
The security features are what is important more than anything else though and it is sure is nice that we have Luther doing the upgrade because we know it will be done right with no corners cut.

It's going through an upgrade and some of us subscribers have helped with the cause, or am I missing something?

donquixote99 03-03-2015 11:18 AM

I think he's bemoaning the fact that the appearance will change.

Why are you so sure that it will be ruined? Do you have experience with the newer version of vBulliten?

icenine 03-03-2015 11:39 AM

The new look over at Steve Hoffman's forum was difficult at first but I got used to it.
The alert notices are cool.

"Change is inevitable. Change is constant." Benjamin Disraeli

Of course, we all wish that the change is for the better.

icenine 03-03-2015 11:48 AM

There is a story about how Robert Peel had found some dirt on a very young and fobbish Disraeli, who was in the habit of totally castigating said Peel in the House of Commons in front of everyone. Then one day Peel had the dirt on Disraeli and could have completely obliterated his career by speaking openly about it to the whole Parliament.

But he held back. And Disraeli eventually became the Prime Minister.

Always loved that story...Peel had class. I hope it was Peel...I read the biography on Disrael in 1985.

Sorry for the digression.

Don't know about him, but some folks just do not trust any sort of change.

On the Hoffman site nothing really changed....flaming continures unabated lol...sort of like here.

Grumpy 03-06-2015 07:26 AM

Videokarma and PC.org should remain online during the upgrades.

I guess I was alluding to his early "dandyism"...he wore outrageous clothing for a minister in his early days. I think it was Peel. The BBC mini-series from the late 80s shown on Masterpiece Theater is really great. He is portrayed by the same actor who played the mayor in Deadwood.

Dave

One of my buddies in my friends list, Daniel, (theNLOwner) is sixteen. Little Dutch Daniel impatiently waits for the changes - new functions, new layout, whatever, I think that the elder we are, the lesser relaxed we respond on what may happen this weekend.

If I can't get used to the upgrades, well, I assume that my 17705 posts are probably enough.

BeamOn I express it this way: Everything changes except change itself. The best book on this topic is The Book Of Changes.

There she went, Obama is a no class idiot. (just priming up)

That is it! I did not mean to suggest Disraeli was fresh off the boat.

Looks like the AK main is up and Luther is restoring the backup. We're keeping the "Kamikiriad" Audiokarma font too. :)
