AMF, Wayne LaPierre

Longtime National Rifle Association chief executive Wayne LaPierre, facing a lawsuit in New York that sought to remove him from his post, announced his resignation from the organization Friday.

LaPierre is named as one of four defendants in a lawsuit over alleged fraud filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James. Last week a state appeals court ruled the suit could move forward, denying a request from the NRA to end the probe.

Tish James is doing God's work. Next week we'll hear the sentence imposed for Trump's decades of business fraud and the NRA goes to court in NY.

In a sweeping rebuke of the National Rifle Association, the nation’s most prominent gun rights group, a Manhattan jury ruled on Friday that N.R.A. leaders had engaged in a pattern of financial misconduct and corruption.

The jury, after a week of deliberations, found that the group’s former leader, Wayne LaPierre, had used N.R.A. funds to pay for personal expenses, including vacations, luxury flights for his relatives and rides on superyachts. Jurors found that he misspent $5.4 million, some of which he has repaid.

Misspent $5.4M? That's a lot of mighty high living. On someone else's dime I might add.

Some interesting aspects to this case beginning with two huge wins in a row for AG Leticia James. Secondly the repayment of around $6 million gores back to the NRA and not the state of NY which makes this case look neutral. On the other hand, NRA has spent millions of $s defending various lawsuits including this, their memberdhip revenues are down by 25% and hopefully they will go broke soon.
