Are You Tired of Your User Title?

How many of you have noticed that the designations "Junior Member" and "Senior Member" are pretty much meaningless? Pete and I have had a little bit of fun with user titles for a couple of members, and we decided that others should have that option.

Neither of us have the time to go into the user profile on all accounts to grant permission to change the user title, but we will do what we can to get around to responding to individual requests for that option. Just post your request on this thread, and we will get to it. Once you have made the request, we will change your profile to allow you to change the title yourself. That way you are not stuck with a bad choice.

Please do not send PMs to make this request. My mailbox is nearly full and I don't have time to clean it out right now.

Regards,

D-Ray

I will take "Intellectual Masturbationist."

You now have the permission to take whatever pleasure you like in your title. You have to take the matter into your own hands, however. :D (Go to your user profile.)

Egalitarianism! Have you been reading the same posts I have. Maybe everyone is a prince and a douchebag all at the same time. :D

How exactly does one fix the line under the avatar. I can't find any button that will do it.

bobabode 02-08-2014 06:26 PM

I'll bite. Access requested.

4-2-7 02-08-2014 06:29 PM

I would like to change it as well.

Have not thought about what would go there though. But I'm in no hurry to be senior anything.

Oh, jeez. He's probably gonna bill me for 2-3 hours.

d-ray657 02-08-2014 07:27 PM

OK you three. Go to your forum profile and you should be able to change your designation.

D-Ray

And you call yourself an engineer. ;)

Go to your user profile. There are three links under your user name. One of those is "edit user profile." That will take you to a page where you should be able to change your user title. I hope that you can do it without being an admin. My billing rate goes up if I have to exercise my super powers.

There is no button called "edit user profile." The "edit details" doesn't do it.

Agreed

I get to the control panel and see all sorts of edit options but nothing for

User Title

I would think it would be under edit options

d-ray657 02-08-2014 08:13 PM

It might take a while for the software to process changes to the permissions. Give it a day or so, and if it doesn't work, Pete and I will make the requested changes.

D-Ray

I compared it to AK and here on PC the Custom Title doesn't (yet) exist under "edit your details"

When I edited the user profiles on the admin page, the option I chose for Custom Title was "Yes, allow user" Maybe VBulletin works as slowly as Congress.

merrylander 02-09-2014 10:30 AM

My spirit may still be young but the body says 'who are you kidding?':)

d-ray657 02-09-2014 01:48 PM

Permissions have been entered for all who have requested. It might take a day or two for the change to take effect. As to why that is, I know no more than Sgt. Shultz.

BlueStreak 02-10-2014 07:43 AM

Me too!

piece-itpete 02-10-2014 10:50 AM

It's under 'edit your details'. If it doesn't show post saying so, please.

Pete

piece-itpete 02-10-2014 10:51 AM

Btw do NOT click the 'reset' box next to it.

Pete

piece-itpete 02-10-2014 10:53 AM

Btw kudos to the D man for setting this up!

Pete

JJIII 02-10-2014 11:03 AM

Not showing for me.

piece-itpete 02-10-2014 11:06 AM

It's not the first thing after 'edit email and password'?

If not post here and I'll add it.

Or I'll just make something up :p

If preferred, send me a PM with your title of choice. I don't want my pay cut!

Pete
