Differing philosophies

Obama: "A new vision of an America in which prosperity is shared."

Ryan: "We promise equal opportunity, not equal outcomes."

One of these ideas made America great and motivates people to achieve. The other one, well not so much.

The choice in 2012 couldn't be clearer.

Watch what happens when we stop sharing that prosperity.............

I'll give you a small clue;

We've already been down that road before.

If you think about it....a mixed-race kid who was raised by his grandparents becomes President of the United States...born in a time when many Blacks could not even vote (1961)....if that is not American greatness then what is?

come on Mezz you are better than that...

So why is it either or? Both Ryan and Obama's visions are mutually exclusive?

Only to a myopic moron. I would think shared prosperity leads to more working folk sending their kids to get a better education, thus leading to greater opportunities.

The GI Bill comes to mind.

I guess to Mezz it all stops with Obama....if Romney does win he will be setting himself up for more disappointments...

Self-reliance only works, in a general sense, if the playing field is level. There will always be exceptions where someone overcomes sociological handicaps but those are generally exceptional people.
