I read that yesterday. Even results like these will never get the GOP to give up on Reaganomics. It's simply too appealing to their base - you can have it all, but you don't have to pay for it.

An excellent article.

Thanks for posting it.

And herein lies the rub.

The right wingers will continue to deny reality and insist that their own delusions are true.

We'll see examples of that if any of our resident righties dare to post in this thread.

California has long been the bell ringer for what's in store nationally. Fingers' crossed here this remains true. Although George the Lessor's destruction of President Clinton's budget achievement is a reality check for me.

Today's Republican Party is the myth of Reagan.

"In other words, California’s success is a demonstration that the extremist ideology still dominating much of American politics is nonsense."

This is true in most of life too. Answer is usually somewhere in the middle (compromise). In a two party system, one party just cannot have it all.

Nor should one party have it all, neither the left nor the right.

As Expected, Teabaggers 100% WRONG About Boston Tea Party

It is a testament to the power of Fox News propaganda that in spite of the fact that a New York Times poll that revealed Teabaggers to be generally more educated than the general public, they are also hopelessly lost in a world where facts and reality don’t meet. This, of course, is by design of the economic royalists who turn them into useful idiots aggressively rallying to the “causes” that make the American Dream impossible.

As laughable as it is to liberals, Teabaggers describe President Obama as “very liberal.” They also believe that his policies favor “blacks over whites” – which basically means that the Republicans have been very successful with activating their inherent racism.

To this day, the GOP is heavily invested in Nixon's Southern Strategy (and Reagan's cynical courting of Evangelicals) which solidified the bubba vote (and which now comprises their base). From an electoral POV, they simply don't know how to split the sheets with the nativists and Bible-thumpers in their midst. Without this base, they'd basically be a party of wealthy industrialists and their suck-ups.

Getting Rich Off The Poor: How The Koch Brothers Wealth Grew 43% Since 2010

"In other words, every time the price of gas goes up for no particular reason other than the vague energy speculators excuse, the Koch brothers just made themselves more money. Charles and David Koch are profiting by artificially raising the price of energy futures. What makes the Koch brothers different is that they have taken some of their vast fortune and used it to fund candidates and elected officials in the Republican Party who will allow them to keep making money while the rest of America winces when they have to fill up the gas tank."

I know it's a liberal site but the numbers quoted are from Forbes. Here in CA, we are quite sensitive about gasoline prices since there is very little public transportation.

I heard somewhere yesterday or so that the Koch Bros. increased their net wealth 12 billion last year. I thought that was a bit much but it certainly does follow the 50 billion in the last 4 years here. Yessir, we have the finest supreme court money can buy.
