The NYT is an excellent example of the Establishment that Trump hates. Trump now has the Bully Pulpit and is using it to wreck his revenge and have what for him qualifies for a good time. As President the rules of this fight are pretty much set by him unless the Supreme Court or Congress says otherwise. Trump is a person who lives by his own rules and being the one whose setting the rules for this fight must fill him with glee.

Best feature for me about NYT is that now as I am traveling, I can download the entire paper on to my iPad and immerse myself in fake news throughout the day without needing WiFi. :)

I'll have you know sir the NYT prints the news that is fit to print. :)

I've enjoyed reading the NYT since I was a kid.

Have to get a lot of other stuff out of the way first.

President Donald Trump couldn’t hold back anymore.

After a weekend of thorny questions and barbed Democratic criticism surrounding ties between his campaign and Moscow, Trump took to his favorite platform Sunday to fight back.

“Russia talk is FAKE NEWS put out by the Dems, and played up by the media, in order to mask the big election defeat and the illegal leaks!” the president tweeted.

The tweet marked a departure in tone from the Democratic trolling he had done just a day earlier, mocking the opposing party’s newly elected chairman and attempting to sow discord by speculating that the Democratic National Committee had rigged the election against Bernie Sanders’ preferred candidate.

The White House, however, would have been hard-pressed not to weigh in on the subject of Trump associates' contacts with Russia. Republicans on Sunday faced endless questions about the ongoing investigation into Russia's role in the presidential election — especially what role, if any, Attorney General Jeff Sessions should play in overseeing it.

Ouch. Truer words haven't been written.

For Trump, there is simply no distinction between truth and lies. He just says whatever he thinks at that instant will help his agenda or ego with no regard for the truth.

Fox's claim that "Speaking truth to power" and the other examples are anti-Trump rhetoric will doubtless fly--with the deeply-programmed segment of their audience....

There is a vast segment of people in this country identifying themselves as Republicans who will not watch nor listen to anything other than Fox News, or right wing radio such as Limbaugh or Hannity.

On long road trips I often tune in to these shows and I am amazed as to how much Limbaugh/Hannity types lie as opposed to how sincere and committed these callers sound. I really don't think there is any hope there.

WSJ editorial: Most Americans may conclude Trump 'fake president'
Quote:

The editorial also slammed Trump for refusing to back off his administration's unsubstantiated allegations that President Barack Obama ordered the wiretapping of Trump Tower. Multiple lawmakers, including Republicans, have called on Trump to apologize to Obama for making the claim without providing any evidence.
"He has offered no evidence for his claim, and a parade of intelligence officials, senior Republicans and Democrats have since said they have seen no such evidence," the editorial board wrote. "Yet the President clings to his assertion like a drunk to an empty gin bottle, rolling out his press spokesman to make more dubious claims."
I do hope some serious tweeting is on order from Tweeter Don. :D

Here is an excellent article regarding trump and Truth, as usual from The Atlantic.

Trump's Credibility Crisis Arrives
Quote:

It’s a point countless politicians have made—for instance, Representative Adam Schiff of California, the most effective questioner in yesterday’s testimony by James Comey of the FBI and Admiral Mike Rogers of the NSA. As Schiff put it last week:

"If six months from now the president should say that Iran is cheating on the nuclear agreement, if he's making that up, it’s a real problem. If he’s not making [it] up and it’s true, it’s an even bigger problem because the question is: Would people believe him? Would the American people believe him? Would people around the world believe him? And that has real-world consequences."

finnbow 03-22-2017 12:59 PM

And now, the Wall Street Journal, normally supportive of Trump, weighs in on Trump's credibility crisis.

Trump's Credibility Crisis Arrives

https://www.theatlantic.com/politics...rrives/520347/

For many Trump has never been credible. Proliferate liars lack credibility.

CarlV 03-23-2017 11:17 AM

Quote:

So you don’t feel like Comey’s testimony in any way takes away from the credibility of the tweets you put out, even with the quotes?

No, I have, look. I have articles saying it happened. But you have to take a look at what they, they just went out at a news conference. Devin Nunes had a news conference. I mean I don’t know, I was unable to see it, because I am at meetings, but they just had a news conference talking about surveillance. Now again, it is in quotes. That means surveillance and various other things. And the New York Times had a front-page story, which they actually reduced, they took it, they took it the word wiretapping out of the title, but its first story in the front page of the paper was wiretapping. And a lot of information has just been learned, and a lot of information may be learned over the next coming period of time. We will see what happens. Look. I predicted a lot of things that took a little of bit of time. Here, headline, for the front page of the New York Times, "Wiretapped data used in inquiry of Trump aides." That’s a headline. Now they then dropped that headline, I never saw this until this morning. They then dropped that headline, and they used another headline without the word wiretap, but they did mean wiretap. Wiretapped data used in inquiry. Then changed after that, they probably didn’t like it. And they changed the title. They took the wiretap word out.

Spicer is feeling the heat about Russia...........
Quote:

A testy exchange during Tuesday’s daily White House press briefing ended in Press Secretary Sean Spicer telling a veteran journalist: “Stop shaking your head.”
.................................................. .................................................. ..................
Interrupting Ryan, Spicer firmly asserted, “I’ve said it from the day that I got here until whatever that there is no connection. You’ve got Russia. If the President puts Russian salad dressing on his salad tonight, somehow that’s a Russian connection.”

As Ryan further pushed her question, Spicer got more annoyed. “At some point, report the facts. The facts are that every single person who has been briefed on this subject has come away with the same conclusion – Republican, Democrat. So I’m sorry that that disgusts you. You’re shaking your head.”

The pair’s exchange continued, with Spicer telling Ryan once more, “Please stop shaking your head again.”
This is April Ryan, a 20 year veteran of the White House press corps. Her tweeted response?
