Puerto Rico Hit Hard By Hurricane Fiona

All power is out on the island. "Numerous locations had received double-digit rainfall amounts, with some totals near 14 inches as of Sunday afternoon. Flash-flood warnings blanketed the island as the Hurricane Center increased projected storm totals to up to 30 inches by Monday morning."

Puerto Rico Hit Hard By Hurricane Fiona

I consulted on 2 big flood control dams on Puerto Ricos south coast near Ponce (Cerrillos and Portugues dams) back in the late 80s. They were supposed to help control flooding in the region after big storms. I hope they are working as planned. Spent considerable time in PR back in those days. Met a bunch of good people and ate lots of great food. I hope they get back on their feet quickly.

Not again!!

I feel it for my Puerto Rican friends. They have lost so much because of natural disasters.

Now more professionals such as doctors and teachers are going to leave the island. Not good for the island

For the last couple of years Central Florida has benefited from a large influx of these professionals.

As a matter of fact my "old school" doctor is Puerto Rican. Every time I go to him (4 times a year) he physically check my ankle. This is just a part of his routine in checking out an old fellow.

In my younger years I had some good times in Puerto Rico.
