The way I see it, you're right.

IMHO, a motor vehicle is nothing more than a tool. It hauls you and what you need from Point A to Point B. My ideas of customizing one are ladder racks, trailer hitches, electronic brake controls, tool boxes, etc. No fuzzy dice, "bumper snickers", superchargers, trick wheels, or other useless crapola which doesn't serve a specific purpose.

Well, I did put a "I brake for tailgaters" bumper snicker on my old Dodge after the Pepsi truck rear ended it...my inner child got the best of me.

The less crap you have on one, the less crap you have to maintain/repair. You couldn't give me a hybrid.
