Trockenbeerenauslese (the German Sauternes...)

Thank you Pat for your post in the Trump disgraces thread and the links in there... yes the Wehlener Sonnenuhr TBA's are world famous... The most expensive TBA's are made of Riesling and one of the most expensive Riesling TBA's are from Johann Joseph Prüm, produced in 1976 and 1959.

The 1959 Joh. Jos. Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese is most likely the Mount Everest of German vintage white wine.

The TBA is pretty similar to the French Sauternes which is also a wine you can only enjoy in tiny quantities because of it's extrem density in terms of taste, Pat you mentioned this as well...

Here is my 1971 Ihringer Winklerberg Ruländer Trockenbeerenauslese from the so called Kaiserstuhl. I got five bottles of them so I should not hesitate any longer and open one. I am still indeciseve, I think I fear a disappointment. One never nows if the wine has been stored in an appropriate manner all the time in the last 46 years.

There is one more thing that I'm worrying about. The capsule seems not to be the original one. Although from the winegrower in Ihringen, it is made of plastic. I think that the original one was made of lead. I am pretty sure about that.
