A good friend of mine has a rustic cabin on a few hundred acres of family
land. It's deer camp in the fall and beer camp the rest of the year.
Anyway we power it with an inverter and a 12 volt marine battery.
We have an 86 model 55wpc realistic receiver and two lamps. That's
about all we really need out there. With both lamps on, 13 watt cfl curly
bulbs, the cooling fan runs on the inverter and that is with the stereo off.
With the receiver on at ear splitting levels pushing some old ratty JBL
speakers with the lamps off the cooling fan never comes on???????
So two energy efficient? bulbs use more power than a 300 some odd watt
receiver?
