So the energy wasted to "destroy" all those older engines and trannies doesn't count right?
I once wanted to buy a car under the guise of better gas mileage. My dad sat me down and we ran the numbers. I couldn't make the extra couple of MPG pay the new car payments. Guess what, I still buy used, pay cash, and don't have that $4-500.00 payment looming over my head.
This is just another helping hand for the auto industry although at the same time it's hurting them by stalling sales now and artificially creating demand.
