Vlad is looking for validation as a world leader and an exclusive meeting with the President for his Foreign Secretary and ambassador is indeed a big deal. May not be that big a deal in the US (yet it was a big negative by excluding the US media, downright stupid), but in the rest world indeed a BFD.
