PETA is ridiculous. Trust me, I know. I live just a few miles from their world headquarters, had a girlfriend (Amy) who was heavy into PETA and when my sister had her landscaping business I planted all of the shrubberies around their building. I've sat through their bizarre meetings and hung out at their rallies with Amy, many times. (The things a man will do for great sex... )
I could tell you stories that would have you rolling.

PETA is a fringe group in my opinion. The Sierra Club is a pretty level headed group unlike ELF and some other fringie enviromental crusaders. The thing is that the fringe groups on both sides are the ones getting the press.
I hope you know that I'm just ribbing you, my friend.

DJ this place is a lot of work and if we had any common sense we would sell and find something smaller. However, there is just so much of us in it we can't leave. Hope our granddaughters will enjoy it.

Rob, you should scan in all the letters and make digital copies of the tapes for your granddaughters and maybe even their grandchildren.....

We plan on leaving the originals, though scanning and writing to DVD might be a good idea in case of fire. In the meantime we have a fireproof box where I will place the originals.

Spent much of the afternoon re-reading Florence's letters and some of mine, brought back the times and us. This is the romance of the century and the world can go suck a prune.
Started a letter to the grand children to accompany the letters and tapes, or rather the DVD with the letters and CDs with the tapes, good idea Rex, Thanks.

My father spent a lot of time driving around the state of Missouri for his work. I used to try to get him to talk into a tape player and record his life story when he was driving around so we'd have it. He never did.
I think it's great to keep and pass on such things. Having had little family myself and not getting a chance to meet many of them it's something I think of often.

That's beautiful Rob. I'm sure your descendents will be appreciative of your efforts.

Well I have my family history back to my 5X Great Grandfater and his second wife even further.
I have started on Florence's side as there is a common ancestor for her suname here in the Americas, it is finding the folks in between. So far back to a 2x great grandfather.
Don't ever take up genealogy it can go from a hobby to an obsession very quickly.
And of course those records will also be in the package. Quite a task but I have the time since I plan to reach 100.

He he , I also dated a PETA zealot. I concur it was great sex, but, alas, it was too much work hiding my love for eating animals.

Wow, what a wonderful gift. Far too many people throw out eveything. I'm sure the grandaughters will appreciate what a fine relationship you and Florence have.
