Actually, you don't have to. Nothing's keeping you here with us idiots.

We've also noticed you're in no big hurry to leave that union.

Yes, there's still a few knocking about. And TD is a member of one that he bitches about constantly. He has, however mentioned that he "sticks around" for the pension.

Lets analyze this;

He hates unions, but remains a member of one.....because he's after the pension. So, apparently, he knows that in the increasingly non-union America---pensions are a thing of the past, if the GOP has it's way SS will become virtually worthless and medicare will be a non-existant.....so he's going to need the money. And jobs outside of the union realm generally SUCK. (Due in no small part to the anti-labor and union busting efforts of the party he loves to proclaim his allegiance to.)

Of late, he has also magically become the least racist man on the planet. However, if you had been around here to read his posts just a few years ago, you would know just exactly how hypocritical this utter BS is as well.

In otherwords, he is your consumate modern day Republican, buried so deep in the cesspool of his own anti-intellectual crap that all one can do is sit back and watch. There is no reasoning with it, it has taken on a head of steam, fueled by delusion so thick that, unfortunately, I fear it must run its course.

Ya know, there are actually some pretty smart people that hang out around here. A lot of them make points that I don't agree with, but it's still pretty clear that they could find their way out of a maze. There are some of the smart folks here with whom I agree more often than not, but I don't think there is anyone here who is in four-square agreement on everything with anyone else here. That's what makes it interesting, and keeps some of us coming back.

On the other hand, I don't think there has been a single person here with whom I couldn't find some points of common ground. Think about it, the vast majority of the participants here came from AK, so we at least have that in common. That is not to say that those who came here just for the political discussion are not welcome, and it is more than likely that, even with the non-AK members, we could each find some points of common ground.

If everyone here is an idiot, we sure do waste a lot of time reading posts by other idiots. I don't think I have that much time to waste.

Regards,

D-Ray

I thought he was a troll at first....anyway alot of the anti-union animus comes surprisingly from people who do not have the experience of working non-union. Or if they are in government service like I am enjoy all the really good benefits without having to join the union....and complain about the union anyway.
I have worked part time at an very anti-union concern for 15 years, I basically started there in 1997 just to supplement my meager income as a Hospital Corpsman Second Class...you remember how little pay that was I am sure Dave. Well they just through out the door someone who had been very loyal to the concern and had been there 10 years or so. A very hard worker. They are basically making him a scapegoat even though he followed the rules the administration laid out. This was a very good person. Just thrown out the door like nothing.
I feel for people who go to work not knowing if its their last day or not....and you have to wonder why they would vote for the tea party if they are in that situation.
I do not care what you say about unions, America was better off when we had them. Remember when there were one income families? Not to sound anti-equal rights but if women did want to stay at home and raise kids they could. Hard to do that today....both parents have to work here in Cali to have a "normal" existence.

I wasn't actually speaking of the idiots here, I was talking about the ones in America that voted Obama into office. And yes, the only reason I work union is for the pension. I took a paycut when I joined, and could make more right now, but the pension pays the same as working, so........................ I would never let politics get between me and money, I like money, the more the better. You people don't know a thing about me, and wouldn't understand it if you did.

I think we all know what sectors Obama gets his votes from.

The reason Obama was voted into office was disgust with Dubya and a lack of confidence in McCain/Palin. As I said in another post, I can understand someone disliking Obama. I cannot, however, understand anyone preferring Dubya to Obama, and it's not clear to many that the GOP is any different now than the party that foisted Dubya upon the nation.

I beg to differ Jay. I think you're Ok in most respects. In my interactions with you and reading what you've posted at AK shows you to be generous and kindhearted. You've got a blind spot bigger than a Buick in how you view Dems/Liberals but that ain't something you can't be edumacated out of.
