Has this happened to anyone here?

We try to support what charities we can, but I swear they must sell their mailing lists. Now I am getting pleas from some religious order in the U.K., not to mention tens of organizations here in the U.S. that of which we have never heard.

It does make going through the daily mail quite fast. Oh the other thing we are being innundated with are adverts for retirement homes/villages. That and lotteries that we allegedly have won (but never entered).

They absolutely do sell their mailing lists. The Sierra Club is among the worst.

Yes......I USED to give to United Way through my employer. I got junk mail from every charity, shyster and otherwise, on the planet.

What's even worse......I have a habit of emailing politicians. But, I do it through an separate email adress than the one friends and family have.

Every day, I delete at least 40-50 emails begging for campaign donations. Maybe once a month I get an actual reply to one of the emails I sent out.

Other than filling up the recycle bin quicker I am afraid i does them no good. We join the SPCA, a few other societies and send monthly to Covenant House. Florence had an unhappy childhood and left home as soon as she reached eighteen, out into an unfriendly world. So we want Covenant House to reach the runaways before the predators do. Now that is a lifeform I could cheerfully execute on sight.
