I'll take every immigrant if we could just manage to get the white liberals to move to Texas. California's problems have more to do with the left's control of Sacramento than it does with illegal aliens coming from Oaxaca.

Shared prosperity blurs the lines between the strata. People polarize the most when they are broke and hungry and watch others walk away with the loot.

And that is exactly why business ought to be promoted and not looked upon as evil. I always find it odd that those same white liberals that demonize Mobil-Exxon are utterly in love with Apple. I guess sometimes appearance and homage to a pseudo-cause trumps all.

You might notice that a lot more thinking people are now scrutinizing Apple's operations closely. I have never owned an Apple product. Frankly, I am naturally suspicious about anyone who exercises that much market power.

It's also why more businesses should actually engage in shared prosperity---lest they be perceived as "evil". A modicum of loyalty to this country and it's workforce would be really nice as well.
I believe I have posted my thoughts at some length on this notion of the "evil" corporation on more than one occasion. I do not perceive them as evil, I simply recognize their nature as profit chasing entities. If we encourage them to have no conscience, (As is evident in Randian Objectivism), there will be nothing but trouble to come from it, IMHO.
Regards,
Dave

I actually like the concept of employee owned companies or companies that offer good profit sharing plans. I have little use for the professonal manager types that jump across industries or even within a given industry.
Here's a list:

That is true. I like Apple products and currently have several; however, they cost too much IMO, but like McIntosh retain their value better than the generic pc. I'm interested in reading the coming Apple Samsung legal battle. I also hope Google gets involved. I did see a piece that noted that the U.S. was the only place Apple won. Our intellectual property laws are archaic wrt just about everywhere else.

Yeah, but is an "employee owned company" ever really employee owned? Somehow, I doubt it. I think they throw you a bone with a little comapny stock and feed you lip service to make you think you're a partner. But, barge into a board meeting and watch what happens.
My employer had created a fairly good incentive program. Problem is, they won't leave it alone. They keep changing it around, making it more and more complex and confusing. (And, less rewarding.) The last thing they added was a lottery of sorts. Wherein, if we meet certain goals they will pull a name out of a bag and that person gets a $50 gift certificate..........
Meh, who cares.

And the folks who buy lottery tickets vote Republican, because they are going to get rich some day.
