By the way, since Kaczinski got his name for sending letter bombs to people at universities, how come he's the Unabomber?

Law enforcement gave him that name. His first targets were universities and airlines. So, the 'un' was for university and the 'a' was for airlines.

And that's . . . ridiculous.
The Declaration of Independence is a prime example of a few people that got so pissed off they couldn't stand themselves in substantial part because the King wouldn't hear them. And after they wrote it there was some fightin'.

Which is why folks that get mad at Middle East folks that do not care for the U.S. should Google "Imperialism" to understand why they're upset.
Let's not be hypocrites...

The FBI's case file on serial killer/domestic terrorist Theodore Kaczinski was called UNABOM (UNiversity and Airline BOMber) and the press extrapolated 'Unabomber' from it.
The publishing of his manifesto was not a condition of his surrender. He said that he would stop his 'terrorism' if the manifesto was published. The FBI eventually decided to publish it in the interest of protecting the public and to explore the possibility that someone would recognize his ravings and identify him. That is exactly what happened. His bother, who was very familiar with Kaczinski's views and had debated and discussed them with him throughout his life, tipped off the FBI. Ted apparently won't answer his brother's letters since the start of his incarceration of eight consecutive life sentences.

As far as I'm concerned they've demonstrated no justification whatsoever to murder innocent civilians, and thus their supposed causes aren't even worth uncovering.

I see that Barbara already explained this above. Sorry for the repetition.
