Finally back to real refs.
"NEW YORK—After three controversy-filled weeks, the NFL finally reached a deal with its locked-out officials Thursday, sparking waves of excitement from fans longing to bitch and complain about non-replacement referees again. “It’s about damn time, I was starting to wonder if I’d ever get the chance to call the regular refs a bunch of blind-as-fuck dipshits again,” said Jets fan Herb Krzynski, adding that it “just hasn’t felt the same” threatening to injure replacement officials in the parking lot after games. “Honestly, it was hurting the integrity of the game to have us terrorizing the family members of those replacement referees on Facebook. It’s going to feel so much better doing that to the normal referees.” When reached for comment, several of the replacement referees also expressed their excitement to return to officiating at high school and junior college games where they get bitched at by real fans instead of “drunk corporate pricks in $900 seats.” "
A little rough but very funny

I did notice that after they ripped down the old muny stadium here in Cleveland tickets got expensive (for all 3 sports) and there's suits everywhere.
Heck, the only time I can afford Browns tickets is when they stink. Which (fortunately? ) is all the time!

Just in time for the Ravens to kick the living $hit out of the Browns tonight.

LOL! Dang
Though for the first time in maybe 7 years the old saw 'rebuilding' might actually be true. Right.

I've got mixed feelings about all this. Baltimore lost the Colts in a really shitty deal only to steal the Browns in a really shitty deal. Can't stand the Indianapolis team and have never been able to warm to the Ravens, even though they've played good ball.
Another reason I have a problem with the Ravens is that their arrival in Baltimore basically killed the Baltimore Stallions. They were a really exciting team in an exciting brand of football. Grey Cup contenders in their first year, Grey Cup winners in their second and then.... gone.

Baltimorons (including my wife and her extended family) have warmed to the Ravens, but I'm still a bit agnostic about them. I want to like the Redskins (and liked them a lot during JKCooke's ownership), but Danny Boy Snyder is a first class prick.
I don't know if you followed the brouhaha about a very unflattering article on Snyder in the Washington City Paper a couple of years back. Snyder sued the paper its author, but threw in the towel after he realized that butting heads with the First Amendment was a tough ride. It's a very entertaining read:

If only this country revered educators half as much as football players we wouldn't be the stupidist country in the West. The refs should've rejected the latest offer and went on strike as a response to being locked out.

Aren't you really describing just about anyone who got himself into a position to own a NFL franchise? (Although I'm inclined to give absolution to Rooney).

There are some good ones. The former Redskins owner Jack Kent Cooke was great, as are Rooney, Kraft (Patriots), Benson (Saints), and the multitude of Green Bay Packers owners.
Danny Boy Snyder is in a class by himself.

Oh, I still have a fair bit of Baltimoron in me........ hon.
I missed all that flap about Snyder and didn't really know anything about Snyder. Wow! What a piece of work!
Mr. Cooke was definitely okay though.
