How anyone that has read the Communist Manifesto can think that Ayn Rand was something other than a communist agent is beyond me. Have you read it? If so how does Ayn Rand's brand of capitalism compare to the one that Marx predicted would fail?

Perhaps Rand read Marx, accepted his characterization of capitalism's nature but rejected his conclusions. That's certainly possible and, perhaps more likely than an elaborate conspiracy.

And wasn't it in Das Kapital that Marx predicted the collapse of the capitalist system?

I have not read Das Kapital so I can't comment on that book. The Communist Manifesto does, however, lay out a scenario under which capitalism fails.

Also, it does not take "an elaborate conspiracy" to publish propaganda. The author is the only person that has to know the agenda. The rest of the people, such as Gary Cooper, the staff at the Ayn Rand Institute, and Tea Partiers, can be useful idiots.
